The deal, in plain words

These are the terms you agree to when you make an account. They are short on purpose. Nothing below is hidden in a paragraph designed not to be read.
The three things that matter
- UpkeepMinder tracks the intervals you enter. It is not a maintenance authority. Your manufacturer's schedule is. A machine damaged by a service that was skipped, done late, or done to an interval you typed in wrong is not something we can be responsible for.
- This is a free service run by one person. It may be shut down at any point, without notice, and there is no uptime guarantee in the meantime.
- If it shuts down, or breaks, reminder emails stop arriving. Your data stays yours in the meantime — every asset, task and service record exports to CSV at any time, and an export you have already taken keeps working whatever happens here.
That third point is the one doing the real work. A free service that might disappear has no business being the only copy of your maintenance records, so the export is always available and takes one click. Use it now and then.
Your account
You need an account to save anything. Sign-in is with Google or a one-time email link; there is no password. You are responsible for the email account those links go to — anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you.
One person, one account. Sharing an account with somebody else works, but a shared workspace is what that is actually for, and it keeps the record of who did what.
Your data
What you put in stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it back to you, and to show it to the other members of any workspace you put it in. That is the whole licence — nothing here lets us publish it, sell it, or train anything on it.
You can delete any of it, or all of it, at any time. Deleting your account deletes it for real; see the privacy page for exactly what goes and what a shared workspace changes.
Shared workspaces
Everyone in a workspace can see and change everything in it, and every service record shows who logged it. Invite people you would let into the shop. An invitation code is good for 72 hours and a limited number of uses, and an owner can revoke a member at any time.
Removing somebody does not remove the records they logged, because the work still happened.
What you agree not to do
- Upload anything you do not have the right to, or anything illegal.
- Use somebody else's account, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Attack the service — scraping it, hammering it, or trying to break the limits it enforces.
- Resell it, or run it as your own product.
An account doing any of that can be suspended or removed. In practice, this has never come up.
You choose which reminders you get and can turn each one off individually, from Settings or from the link in any message. Separately, we may email you about a change to these terms or about the service closing. That one has no unsubscribe link — it is not a newsletter, and it is the only way to tell you something you are owed in writing.
No warranty
UpkeepMinder is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, it may lose data, and a reminder may fail to arrive. We do our best; we are not promising more than that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from using it — including a service that was missed because the app did not remind you.
Some places do not allow that kind of exclusion, and where they do not, the limits above apply only as far as they legally can.
Changes to these terms
If the substance changes, the version at the top changes and every account holder is emailed. You will be asked to agree again next time you sign in, and the version you agreed to is recorded — so "everybody has agreed to something" is actually "everybody has agreed to the wording currently in force". Fixing a typo is not a new agreement.
Ending it
You can stop using UpkeepMinder whenever you like and delete your account from Settings. We can also stop running it — see point two. If that happens, we will give what notice we can and the export will keep working until the lights go out.
